Basically, mosaic is the art and process of creating images and shapes with an assemblage of small pieces of colored glass, stone, or other materials. Art lovers, you are set for another magical evening filled with art, music, and food. On Thursday, July 14th at 7:30 pm, visitors are invited to join Ruth Scheibler aka Mozaikon, as she explains and shows how technical processes and analysis have helped to create a unique world of mosaic art.

Through her magnificent mosaic art, Ruth Scheibler explores current global issues, challenges ideas about identity and history, and creates relationships and communities across boundaries that inform, reform and transform our understanding of our place in the contemporary world.

Her mesmerizing art lies between the natural phenomenon and metaphor of our world. “I am fascinated by the process of decomposing and recomposing things, both physically and metaphorically speaking. I like to take up motifs from mythology, biology, and geology and develop them into a whole new context. From microcosm to macrocosm, from the entity to unity always looking for the essential. I investigate the connection between material properties and their associations, handmade pixels somewhere between the second and the third dimensionality. I am passionate about texture, reflections, and color synthesis and you can easily find me collecting whatever tiny pieces get in my way. I believe in the future of true craftsmanship as well as in the transcendental force of art.”
