Summer has just started, which only means an eventful season at 2B Art & Toys Gallery. Weekly exhibitions of Contemporary Art, with international artists, music of celebrated DJs on the Astir terrace, and themed dinners created by the chef of the Astir restaurant, Miquel Clar. We’ve rounded up all the upcoming art shows of July that will make this summer even “hotter”.
It hasn’t even happened yet, but it’s already one of the most popular events – The incredible fluffy art of Lucy Sparrow will mark the first week of July.
Lucy Sparrow is one of the most exciting and original artists working in the UK today. Her practice is quirky yet subversive, luring the audience in with her soft, tactile, colorful felt creations before hitting them hard with her comment on subjects including the demise of the traditional high street and the fragmentation of community. The Lucy Sparrow Flash show will showcase the artist’s groundbreaking work made entirely of felt.
The second week of July will be marked by Nick Walker‘s masterpieces – To spice up things a little bit, we will show some lesser-known artworks by this master of stencil art. Nick Walker is a living legend of street art and a man who revolutionized the canons of the stencil graffiti movement in the 1990s. He has been transcending the barriers between street, commercial and fine art ever since, always evolving and remaining original.
The middle of the month will be the perfect time for the joyful art of El Pez. This famous Spanish artist Jose Sabate aka El Pez is bringing his incredible, immersive display of art with a promise to make all attendees smile. A trailblazer of Barcelona street art, El Pez is a famous urban artist well-known for his character smiling fish. He is passing on positivism and good vibrations to the people on the streets, spreading smiles worldwide.
The fourth Thursday of July will bring the striking art of the popular Spanish artist Javier Garlo. By questioning the 21st century, his own generation, and even the loss of values happening to people, Javier explores the human being throughout history and human stories in a timeless way. All his work revolves around his personal research, which has become a kind of invisible thread that unifies his work intrinsically.
End for the end of the month, we got a real art treat for you – Ruth Minola aka MOZAIKON and Gràcia Ribalaiga.
Ruth Minola Scheibler aka MOZAIKON is a visual artist and designer based in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Her focus is on mosaic processes and materials – working in fine art and temporary installations, urban interventions as well as private, public, commercial commissions and teaching.
Born in Barcelona and living between Menorca & London, Gràcia Ribalaiga is a self-taught, curious, and passionate artist, working in the world of image, editing, design, and advertising.
Don’t miss these unique art shows which urge us to love life and celebrate art.
