Undercover (sometimes called Undercoverism) is a famous Japanese streetwear clothing brand founded by Jun Takahashi in 1993. The brand has been called "the essence of Japanese cool" and features finely crafted clothing pieces which are, in the words of Takahashi himself, "strange, but beautiful". Besides high-end streetwear for men, women, and children, the Undercover brand also works and designs art toys. Taking influence from street culture, punk, and from its homeland, the brand has gained strong acclaim among streetwear fanatics. The embodiment of Japanese cool, the brand fuses American inspirations with British punk references. The cult-status brand is a staple in the wardrobe of streetwear enthusiasts. Over the years, the Undercover brand has been involved in numerous projects and collaborations. The one that stands out is their collaboration with the Medicom Toy company, resulting in very rare and sought-after Bearbrick figures.
