Ben Eine

“My philosophy through all my work, be it on canvas or on the street, is about pushing boundaries and not going with the flow because everyone else is doing something a certain way”

From his humble beginnings in London, where he was creating beautiful forms executed with a relentless “graffiti mentality”, Ben Eine quickly established himself as one of the most successful letterform artists in the world with his distinct typographic style. Benjamin Flynn aka Ben Eine, who was born in 1970 in London, first found fame in the London graffiti scene in the 90s. By the mid-2000s, he was well known by the public by painting his recognizable alphabet letters on shutters. In his own words: “I used to run away from the cops and now I stand and chat with them about my art. I'm older now and it is harder to run away from them. It would be embarrassing for an older man to get arrested by someone half your age. So I gave up running.”

Ben Eine’s art even made a way to the White House - His artwork was given as a present to the 44th President of the United States Barack Obama by the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom David Cameron. Today, Ben Eine is one of the most important and well-known contemporary artists. His distinctive letters continue to spell words and phrases across walls from London to LA, Florence to Tokyo. This world-acclaimed typography street artist has had many gallery shows and his work is highly sought after by art collectors.
